Santa Monica Consulting began its activities
in 1991 aiming at developing tailor-made applications. In 1992 extended
its services to IT education for local and foreign businesses. The training
in products and software which began with microcomputers was extended
to mid-range computers with open systems, data communication and executive
seminars. In that period SMC was invited by IT equipment providers and
integrators to offer education services to their customers.
In 1993 SMC began the implantation of ERP software, obtaining experience
in the parametrization, and adjustment of modules to clients needs and
local requirements.
In 1994, SMC take charge of the Education services of Hewlett-Packard
Argentina, delivering courses and seminars for its customers, channel
partners and personnel.
In 1995 added Internet consulting services and web site development.
That same year, began the delivery of IT strategic consulting services,
obtaining know-how of commercial, manufacturing and health business, delivering
the following services: business re-engineering, project management, solutions
selection and aid in systems implementation.
In 1999 incorporated the graphic design area producing collateral for
the education business. Also that year the systems development area was
closed to concentrate its efforts on IT consulting and education exclusively.
In 2003 its business outside Argentina accelerated, covering a wide geography.
Up to date SMC delivered services in the following countries: Andorra,
Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Jamaica, Mexico,
Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Spain, Venezuela,
United States of America, and Uruguay.
From its beginning, SMC thought of opening new business units, in other
services areas. For that reason, in 2003 extended its offering incorporating
the organizational communication area, dedicated to improve the work and
profitability of business by means of the effective management of communications.
